The Maggid of Dubno (a close student and colleague of the Vilna Gaon) once met a fellow Jew and asked him how things were going. The man replied that life and Avodat HaShem were becoming to burdensome and out of hand. The Maggid responded with a parable: A wealthy man once received a notification from the post office to pick up a package. The man sent his servant to pick up the parcel. When he arrived with the notification the postmaster told him to wait a few minutes while he prepared the parcel. After a few minutes the postmaster came to the servant with a large sack filled with bricks, and placed the sack on the servant's back (nearly braking his back!!!). A few hours passed until the servant finally returned to his master's home. Surprised and angered the master asked the servant why he took so long to get the parcel. Nearly half dead, the servant replied that he was sent to bring this giant bag of bricks!!! Bewildered, the master looked at the address written on the large sack and saw that it was the wrong address. "The postmaster made a mistake! He sent you the wrong parcel!" So too, when the push gets to shove and you just can't handle it anymore, take a good look at yourself, your ideals and goals, and examine yourself to see if you have the right address.
May we all truly find our right address in life.
