Pinat Nasim

Parshat Tetsave Shabbat Zachor

This year is not a leap year nevertheless Chodesh Adar is the added month every time there is a leap year. The Christian calendar holds by the sun and the Moslem calendar holds by the moon. In Kabbalah we are taught that man is a small world, and that the world is a large man. For example the sun is parallel to the mind of a person and the moon is parallel to the emotions of a person. Therefore in Judaism it is pertinent to attain equality of time to these aspects of mankind. They are both needed to reach our potential and we must give them both the included time TOGETHER. On Purim we are to reach a spiritual high in which our emotions and our innermost thoughts are to be brought forth in a manner which is respectful and uplifting, which is one of the reasons that Chodesh Adar is specifically chosen as a leap month. We as Jews are always to handle ourselves as a MELECH – king in which the head of the word is MEM standing for MOACH – brain, and then LE standing for LEV- heart, and then C standing for CAVED – liver. We should never forget the proper order of how we should act, and always be as a king.
